Where is God in depression? It’s a profound question many people struggle with. When someone is in that dark space, weighed down by everything, it’s hard to see how spirituality fits in. But that’s where I want to help—by encouraging others to see the light in those dark moments.

One thing I’ve learned is that we have more control over our mental and spiritual state than we often realize. We can tune into either joy or despair, and while the choice isn't always easy, it is ours to make. For example, when someone is rude, you could let it ruin your day, or you could shift your perspective, recognizing that person might be facing their own battles. That small change in mindset can make all the difference.

Having walked through depression myself, I now feel a deep calling to help others see it from a place of empathy. Depression has taught me that everyone carries unseen struggles, and it’s given me a desire to support others through their pain, offering understanding where it’s often lacking.

In my journey, I’ve learned to pause, to not let others' actions dictate my emotions, and to choose empathy over anger. My hope is to pass on that wisdom—to teach others that even when life is heavy, we have the power to change how we react, and that shift can be life-changing.

Where is God in all of this? I believe He is present when we choose compassion over judgment, and when we show kindness to ourselves and others. Depression can feel isolating, but the more we open up, the more we recognize that we are never truly alone. I want to help others realize this—that God is right there, in the small moments, encouraging us to keep going even when it’s hard.

Maybe God appears in the supportive friend, the caring stranger, or even in the courage to wake up and say, “Today will be better.” I aspire to be that light for others—to help them see that even in their darkest times, there is hope, and there is a higher power guiding them forward.

At the end of the day, we all have our struggles. Whether it’s depression, anxiety, or just the pressure to feel like we’re enough, I believe God is in all of it. He’s in the confusion, the messiness, and even in those moments when we feel unworthy of His presence. My goal is to inspire others to embrace that divine energy, to help them find the strength within themselves and allow it to transform how they see the world—and how they see themselves.
